Proporta says hello to the new range ofiPhone 4 accessories

Apple has announce its fastest and most powerful iPhone yet, offering critical new features including not one but two cameras with built-in LED flash, FaceTime calling, A4 processor, and at 9.3 millimeters thick it is the world’s thinnest iPhone. Another gold star for Apple it seems.

Proporta’s signature traditional Aluminium Lined protection you’re after, or a thin (but ridiculously tough) clear Mizu Shell that floats your boat, Proporta has custom made a collection of cases and accessories to protect your brand spanking new iPhone 4 and keep it looking slick and stylish to boot.

Proporta Shine Cases for the iPhone 4. Available in three colours (red, black and blue) with an internal mirror and a choice of beautiful print linings (floral, zebra print and nautical stripes).

Proporta Silicone Cases are available to order now and will be in stock a few days before the iPhone goes on sale, meaning you can protect your Apple iPhone 4 as soon as you get your hands on it.

For the fingerprint phobics among us, the Proporta Advanced Screen Protector Echo Mirror Screen Protector becomes reflective when the iPhone is switched off.

  • Perfect Proporta protection for the iPhone killers

Perfect Proporta protection for the iPhone killers – Introducing cases for Droid, Milestone, Nexus One and Storm 2

The iPhone and its horde of devotees may think that they rule the Smartphone roost, but there are more and more credible challengers to the throne.  Proporta has picked three of their favourites, and come up with some typically impressive accessories to keep them safe and sound, and looking spiffing.

For the Motorola Droid there’s the Aluminium Lined Leather Case (Motorola Droid/Milestone) that is handcrafted from the finest quality leather, and features Proporta’s trademark “Screen Saver System”, with a sheet of lightweight, aircraft grade aluminium built in to protect against crushing and impact damage.

Meanwhile, for the HTC Google Nexus One, there’s the impeccable Impact Protective Crystal Back Shell (HTC Google Nexus One), that fits like a glove, and offers unbeatable protection with a soft feel finish.

Last but not least, there’s the Mizu Shell for the BlackBerry Storm 2.  This super tough silicone case offers robust protection against knocks, scratches and impact damage, and with the range of colour options it’s as stylish as it is strong.

Also, to get complete protection for your device, Proporta also has their unrivalled Screen Protectors.  The ultra high clarity plastic protects your screen like a dream, and each protector comes with a kit for easy application, and a cleaning cloth for easy long term care.

But don’t think that Proporta is abandoning the iPhone in all of this – there’s no sides being taken here.  Take, for example, the Antimicrobial Case with Steritouch (Apple iPhone 3GS).  Not only is it a super-tough silicone case that will keep your iPhone safe and sound, it also features a special antimicrobial coating that will help to protect you against any germs and nasties.

With this sort of protection onside, these challengers to the iPhone supremacy have just got that little bit closer to their rival.  But whether you’re an iPhone lover, or solemnly sworn to one of their rivals, don’t worry – Proporta has it covered.

P.S. The USB TurboCharger 3400 can be used to charge up any of the devices above and can guarantee that you’ll never run out of juice again.

Canpages has launched a free augmented reality iPhone app called the CanadaEye—one of only a small handful in North America that leverages this new technology. The app lets you view the direction and distance to all specific business locations in real-time overlaid on screen. As you likely know, augmented reality is the latest technology coined for applications that utilize the iPhone 3GS’ compass, GPS and video camera simultaneously. The Canpages app lets users search for a specific category, from a great local deli to a mom and pop bakery to a Starbucks. Essentially, it’s one app to find everything near you, and how to get there.

Canpages Brings “Augmented Reality” Local Search to the iPhone 3GS

Canpages free CanadaEye’ augmented reality mobile application leverages iPhone’s compass, GPS and video camera simultaneously

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA—March 9, 2010—Canpages, Canada’s fastest growing local search firm today announced the launch of its free augmented reality iPhone application for local search called the CanadaEye. One of only a small handful of mobile applications in North America that leverages this new technology, CanadaEye lets users search and view the direction and distance to all specific business locations in real-time overlaid on iPhone’s screen.

Essentially, CanadaEye is one application to find everything nearby as well as how to get there in real time.

The application is free to download through iTunes here and allows users to search Canpages’ more than one million business listings across Canada.

CanadaEye represents another innovation in a string of online and mobile product “firsts” for Canpages including the launch of Street Scene on Canpages.ca, which provides 360-degree views of Canadian cities at street level, as well as the first voice-recognition local search applications for the iPhone and Blackberry. By admin on February 26th, 2009 | 2 Comments2 Comments Comments

The Apple iPhone has been such a hit that 1 out of 10 of my friends has one, be it the first generation or the new iPhone 3G. They are always constantly looking for iPhone Accessories to personalize their iPhones.

Wireless Emporium, Inc offers a huge selection of iPhone Accessories such as iPhone leather case but I much prefer one of these Silver Aluminum iPhone cases.

WE (Wireless Emporium) also sells screen protector films as well as a huge selection of faceplates of different colors and styles. Aside from selling these protective products, WE also sells iPhone compatible hardware such as chargers, data cable, battery, holsters / belt clips and over 50 different hands-free headsets to choose from.

Wireless Emporium not only provides accessories for iPhones but it also offers accessories from other brand name wireless products like Sony, BlackBerry, LG just to name a few. There are also a few phones that you can purchase on the site as well.

The web site is also user friendly because you can browse the products by their brand names, accessory types or carrier types. For those that do not know the model of their phones, the site also teaches you where to look for it (as quoted from the site “The model number is noted on the back label of the phone”).

If you are looking for accessories for your cell phone, you should drop by Wireless Emporium and check out its huge selection of wireless accessories at very reasonable prices.

  • iPhone 3G – Coming to the Walmart near you for $99
By admin on December 9th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

I just read news, or rather rumors from DailyTech that Walmart will be selling the 4GB version of the ever popular iPhone. If the rumor is infact real, then its no brainer about seeing more people with iPhones. Hack, even I am tempted to get one myself now. I was tempted to get the 8GB version from Rogers AT&T when I saw the 8GB version for $199 with 3 year contract. For $99 you get a 4GB version, size doesn’t really matter to me here really. And I think 4GB is more than enough for me anyway. iPhone is more of a cool gadget to have and chances are I won’t be using it for heavy gaming, as a multimedia player, checking emails or surf the web even though it is capable of doing so. Most likely just like any other cell phones.

And there is this data plan that I have to worry about because as I said it comes with a 3 year turn, that’s the price to pay when you can get an iPhone for $199. The minimum cost for monthly cost is $35 (Voice Plan) + $25 (Data Plan) which equates to $60 + all that tax and other lame charges. Which is probably going to end up being 2-3 times more than what I am paying now.

Either way definitely a great move by Apple if in deed the rumor comes true and great news for those that crave for an iPhone but cannot justify buying the 8/16GB versions or without contract.

[update] Looks like the rumor will remain just a rumor. According to WIRED Appl WIll start selling iPhones through Walmart but not the $99 version like in the rumor. But will be selling the same 8GB and 16GB ones that we are seeing now.

Oh well, it doesn’t hurt to dream right? :)

  • Fake iPhone….from China – tear it down!
    By admin on November 24th, 2008 | 14 Comments14 Comments Comments

    fake iPhone

I found this on Tech-On! and they had tear down a fake iPhone made from, you guessed right, China! I’m Chinese and I feel really embarrased for all these copy cat electronics and not just electronics, practically anything China can and will copy if there’s a market for it.

As explained in the said story, it is a lot easier to break the fake iPhone, or the ciPhone as they called it and the internal parts are all simplified as to cut down the manufacturing cost obviously. Based on looking at the image from the article, even the size is different with the fake one slightly longer but then again it won’t be noticeable unless you put it side by side with the real iPhone. Looking closely you can also see the text at the back of the phones are different as well.

    Fight E-waste!

In terms of hardware, the chip used in the fake iPhone “is widely used for general no-name mobile phones in China and it costs about US$6 per set”. An engineer from Tech-On! estimated that the total manufacturing cost is “roughly ¥3,000 to 5,000″ and is sold for ¥16,000 a pop (approx US$170), that’s at least ¥11,000 in profit!

The article also reported the “slow response” from the touch panel which isn’t a surprise really given that the fake phone uses a generic low cost chip.

  • What are these wireless phone companies thinking?
    By admin on July 11th, 2008 | 2 Comments2 Comments Comments

What are these wireless phone companies thinking?

In Canada, Telus and Bell will start charging customers without a text message plan incoming sms text messages starting August 24th and August 8th respectively while customers with the plan are unaffected. Surprisingly, Rogers hasn’t made that change but it has its own dilema right now with the iPhone’s data plan.

As of now, you can only purchase an iPhone at Rogers or Fido stores and it comes with a 3 year plan. The cheapest data plan is $60CAD + tax for 150 minutes of weekday talk time and 400 megabytes of data. Therefore, you are tied up with paying over $800CAD a year, 3 years just for the plan itself, that is over $2400CAD PLUS the cost of the phone itself! Even though its cheaper than the BlackBerry plan, it is still more expensive than what people are paying or going to pay in the US.

Here are the plans they offer for the iPhone:
    http://www.rogers.com/web/content/wirelessproducts/iphone_voice_data_packages

To me, these wireless companies are just a group of vampires sucking as much blood (money) out of us customers aspossible. Unless there is some sort of government regulation or intervention which I doubt, as long as they are the only major wireless providers, we are stuck with this monopoly. Hopefully Rogers will lower the price for the plans when there are less customers buying the iPhone and signing up for them than expected. It is an opportunity for Rogers to stand out from other providers like Telus and Bell if it does, but what I see will happen soon is that it will start charging for incoming sms text messages as well if this goes through for Telus and Bell.

I wonder what other excuses can they come up with later. Maybe something like:
“We will start charging a monthly fee for holding onto your phone number”
