  • There should be more interactive youtube videos
By admin on December 21st, 2011 | No Comments Comments

I just found this on Facebook from one of my friends’ “shared a link”. The video was based on the now-pretty-famous Chinese movie called Ip Man, a Wing Chun master from China. For the first minute or so, it plays just like a regular youtube video but that’s when it starts to become interactive. The video requires you to press the pause button so that the villain can stop moving so fast (I don’t want to spoil too much detail of the video). Then the next villain shows up and attacks our protagonist with her loud voice, you now have to press the volumn button to mute her voice. Finally you need to turn back time to find out the traitor by clicking the time bar back to the first minute or so.

The movie is obviously a PR created by Wing Heong BBQ Meat, a company which sells dried meat. I shouldn’t be surprised by such interactivities, afterall, youtube uses Adobe Flash and we know Flash can be very interactive and engaging. Just look at how many Flash based game sites out there. But I look forward to see more of this type of youtube videos where you get to interact with the video and become part of it. Again its nothing new but companies should start using more often.

    Check it out:

And NO, they are not paying me for posting this. I thought this video was rather interesting so that’s why I’m sharing with you guys.

    Mark Leung
I actually found this while messing around on Facebook and the fan page is called Mark Leung. As quoted from the fan page “Mark Leung’ is a parody RPG series for PC. Our game features deep class customization, cosplayed cut scenes and a bunch of f*cked up side quests.”. Aside from the actual downloadable game demo on markleung.com, there are also a 4 part series movie called College Saga. This movie sure brought back a lot of Final Fantasy and Zelda memories. Everyone, not just RPG fans, should check it out from the Facebook fan page.

You will probably not read this but good job Mark, you make us Chinese proud! :)

  • Facebook – German style!
By admin on July 25th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Facebook has filed a lawsuit against the most popular German social networking
web site that closely resambles Facebook in terms of user interface.

I decided to check out studiVZ and immediately the login screen resembles that of Facebook. I did not bother to sign up to check the look and feel of what after you logged in. I googled one of the images from that site, as you can see it looks almost exactly the same as Facebook.

Facebook has also launched lawsuits against few other Facebook-style web sites. It is no surprise there are so many wannabes trying to copy Facebook because of its success and popularity.

But then again, what about Friendster?
