  • Dead Space: Extraction – Lucky for those with a Wii
By admin on April 28th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Wow its been weeks since I’ve last updated my blog, been extremely busy with other work. So as usual, I went to Gametrailers to look for surprises and there wasn’t anything surprising unfortunately. Although not a surprise, Dead Space: Extraction actually looks really promising, this game, which will be released exclusively for the Wii takes place before the first Dead Space game (if I remember correctly).

Other than playing it in third person like the previous entry, you will be playing this one in a guided first person. Think of House of the Dead, Time Crisis and you will get the idea. You don’t actually get to move yourself but you are being “pushed” around and all you need to worry about is shooting your way out of the horror. Based on the trailer, aside from the third-to-first person change, its basically the same as before where you have pulse rifle, flame thrower, stasis etc.

Another worthy game for the Wii, too bad its Wii only otherwise I would pick this one up with no hesitation.

  • Finally another Bayonetta trailer
By admin on April 10th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

After months of waiting, they finally released another in-game trailer for Sarah-Palin-look-alike Bayonetta. This one shows a few more battles with large scale bosses as well as some crazy combo moves and how she can turn into a sexy beast err I mean panther. I am in love with the character designs, not just Bayonetta herself of course! Another thing I like about this game over Devil May Cry is the way the game is presented, with elegant style and music. I don’t mind even calling this game beautiful.

This game will be out on September 1st, seems like a long wait but I’m sure its worth the wait!

  • The solution to your file extension problems
By admin on April 9th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

A file extension is the suffix attached to the name of a computer file, which specifies the file format of its contents. A conflict with file extensions can lead to broken files. It is a daunting roadblock when you come across this kind of problem while working on a very important document.

A conflict with a file extension is not the result of some virus. Usually, computers already have the programs and software needed to read the encoding conventions of almost all kinds of files. Moreover, they have file extensions required to run the contents of the files. The reason why there are instances when computers cannot seem to open the file is a conflict in registry.

If you happen to come across such a problem, there is no need to fret of freak out about it. All you need to do is to know pertinent information about file extensions and opening any file is not going to be a hindrance. There are databases found on the internet about all kinds of file extensions for different operation systems like UNIX, DOS or Windows. These data can help you in opening the contents broken files.

  • Call of Duty 4 is still better, compare to Killzone 2
By admin on April 7th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

    Call of Duty 4

So I’ve been playing Killzone 2 since it came out and I want to write about my thoughts on this game, compare to Call of Duty 4. The reason why I’m comparing KZ2 with COD4 is because of how much time I spent on both of these first person shooter online, obviously with COD 4 having more time logged.

Although Killzone 2 is a great game, intense game play and graphics, I am starting to see myself getting bored of it as oppose to keep on playing and playing for as long as I can see in the case of COD4. The levelling system is great for Killzone 2, until you have maxed out your level and unlocked all the badges (engineer, medic, scout, saboteur, assault and tactician). Then there are badge specific ribbons such as getting 5 kills using turrets you deployed, repairing objects or reviving your teammates and you will gain other power-ups or unlock abilities for each completion.

So far, I have only completed the engineer badge and have the other 5 plus the default rifleman’s ribbons to complete. Don’t get me wrong, I will continue to play Killzone 2. But it just isn’t able to capture my interest level as much as when I first started playing it. On the other hand, Call of Duty 4 has managed to keep my interest level constant if not higher, and I have to admit I am starting to miss COD4. One reason I know is that you can keep grinding your level for a long time, I have yet to reach the max prestige level. And also the fact that I prefer modern weaponry over any other weapons.

    Killzone 2

This is just my thoughts after playing Killzone 2 for a while, and for those that are still debating whether to buy this game or not or if this is better than Call of Duty 4 (not sure about World at War, that’s a different story), hope this will help you out a little. Its definitely a game worth buying but just not as good as Call of Duty 4. Again, that is only my opinion though!

  • Custom desktop – A gamer’s piece of heaven
By admin on April 6th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

A custom desktop is every gamer’s dream. It can offer you hours of enhanced game play, and eye-candy and high quality graphics to those looking for an exciting gaming experience. As opposed to a regular desktop, a gaming desktop is especially tailored to display graphics and videos needed to give you that heightened thrill of the game.

A custom desktop is better than a pre-built one primarily because it is easily altered according to your gaming needs. This gives you more leeway and freedom to tinker with and add more to its functionality. Likewise, you can upgrade its RAM, plug in a faster hard drive, and include more add-ons like new controllers and hardware. You decide what goes into your desktop, giving you unlimited options to meet your gaming requirements. To top it all off, a custom desktop is cheaper and more affordable compared to a pre-built gaming desktop. If you have the skills, you would have no problem at all in assembling the parts you need to create your customized gaming desktop.

If it is ultimate gaming paraphernalia you want, but do not have the money to strain, then a custom desktop is definitely for you. Why splurge on expensive pre-built gaming computers if you can have one with the very same or even better specs for a cheaper price? Just make sure to buy quality desktop components, mix and match it with other parts at hand, and you are all set for hours of gaming bliss without scraping the barrels of your funds.
