  • More LittleBigPlanet presentations from Tokyo Game Show
    By admin on October 12th, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

Gametrailers.com has more trailers for LittleBigPlanet for the PlayStation 3. Although they are all in Japanese, just by watching the game itself is more than enough to sustain my hunger for this game. By the way I’ve already pre-ordered my copy at Futureshop because you get an exclusive costume as I posted previously. I will be getting the Nariko costume from Heavenly Sword, speaking of which I will be playing that game again for the 4th time. Such a nice game but far too short.

Anyway back to the topic, these trailers are almost 17 minutes long in total! I particular like part 2 since it demonstrates how Snake and Sephiroth are born from scratch! And then it shows the producers holding real Snake and Sephiroth Sack Boy plush dolls. Man I want to get me one of those! I’m sure they will make them available, at least in Japan, since its another way of making money from us fans.

9 more days people!! Get ready to be creative!

    Enjoy the trailers!

  • Will Call of Duty: World at War kill Call of Duty 4?
By admin on October 11th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Will Call of Duty: World at War kill Call of Duty 4? This question popped into my head while I was waiting for a COD4 game to start. After some “serious” thinking, my answer is….I’m not sure.

Call of Duty: World at War

Its yes and no, at least in my opinion. Its a yes because I think existing COD players may switch to the new game, permanently. As more people migrate to the new game, the COD 4 servers will not have as many players to start games. And you need a minimum of 6 players for a game to start unless you play 1v1, otherwise you will just be waiting. Also, unlike COD: WaW where 4 or less people is enough to get a game going in co-op mode which COD4 lacks. Again this is just my guess and I hope I’m wrong.

Call of Duty: World at War Collector's Edition

On the other hand, I also think both may be able to “co-exist” because they are two games taking places in two different time periods with one being in World War time and the other in modern days. Some people might still prefer the modern weapons/time period while some might jump the boat and play in the World War period. I personally prefer the modern days and the weapons. I don’t think there will be a red dot sight in World War 1/2, which makes it hard for me to aim. (yea I rely heavily on that to aim when I use a rifle like G36, unless I use a sub machine gun like P90) But even aiming wasn’t the problem, I still prefer modern time. Just a personal preference.

Either outcome will most likely NOT disappoint any of us COD fans. And again with the co-op feature, it will probably enhance rather than degrading the series. I hope a demo release will be out sometime in the end of October or first week of November (comes out in Nov 11th for US and 14th for Europe) so that we can have a better idea if this game is really worth the $59.99.

Just my daily thought and I will now continue on with my debate whether I should get this game or not. What are YOUR thoughts on this?

  • PlayStation 3 trophy game list
By admin on October 11th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

After getting a trophy from Linger in Shadows, I was curious what other games are currently supported. I searched around and stumbled upon TheSixthAxis. It contains a list of all games that support the trophy system, as well as games that do not support, will be supported (new game or through patches) and some that MIGHT support it. I was hoping Call of Duty 4 would support the system since its the game I play the most.

  • Diablo 3 – Wizard class revealed
By admin on October 11th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Finally, another Diablo 3 trailer and this one reveals a new character class – Wizard. A female Wizard (she looks Asian and pretty attractive by the way!) shows off her cool but deadly magic spells and unleashes them upon the enemies. In fact, she looks a bit too strong against those enemies, probably her stats were tweaked for this demonstration? In the end of the trailer, looks like another boss enemy that looks pretty epic but not as epic as the one from a while ago that basically took up the whole screen.

There is no official released date announced yet but I searched around and most of the sites are still saying “TBA” (to be announced) but based on 1up, the release date is end of September of 2009, not sure how accurate it is.

I just hope my PC can handle all these fancy looking effects and man I can’t stop using the word epic these days….

  • Resident Evil 5 – Tokyo Game Show trailers
    By admin on October 11th, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

Capcom has released two lengthy (8+ minutes) trailers for Resident Evil 5. These two trailers are all about the co-op side of the game. While the commentators were a bit annoying because they were talking the entire time in JAPANESE which obviously I do not understand, the co-op game play as well as the graphics certainly look promising.

Resident Evil 5 is somewhat different from the previous series because I feel that the “horror” piece is missing now. Based on the trailers so far, it has become a survival third person shooter as oppose to survival horror third person shooter. There are also more ammo and healing items that can be picked up also probably because there are a lot more zombies, smarter ones that is, to kill. I hope there aren’t too many items for players to pick up otherwise the survival piece will be gone as well because you can just spray your ammo without worrying about how much you have.

Although I really wish the horror piece would remain (maybe its still there but not from the trailers), but the co-op feature is just too much for me to miss this game. If I decided not to get Call of Duty 5, RE5 will probably be my first co-op survival (horror?) third person shooter game.

And…I wish I was there at the Tokyo Game Show. -_-”

  • Ora’s Engines – all your high performance engine needs
By admin on October 10th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

When it comes to high performance race engines, you don’t want to randomly pick just any engine building specialist. With Ora’s Engines you can purchase from them with confidence with its 30-plus years of experience in providing the best possible quality high performance engines and auto parts to customers. It provides a wide range of auto parts such as engine head/block, crankshafts, pistons, timing sets, intakes and the list goes on. Aside from building high performance engine, Ora’s Engines offers non racing engines such as street, agricultural, light industrial and marine engines as well.

That’s not all! Ora’s Engines also offers special services such as cryogenics (a process widely used by NASCAR), thermal coatings, and powder coating that will help improve the durability and performance of your engines.

Now since my blog is all about technology and games, it only makes sense for me to review the site overall. While this site is not the fanciest looking one, it does have a rather clean layout with simple to use navigation. One thing I like the most is the Shop Tour section where its basically a slideshow of Ora’s Engines’ shop. The pictures really shows that the company’s facility is very organized and clean with extensive equipments and this should convince potential customers that it is serious business.

  • Linger in Shadows – PlayStation 3 demoscene review
By admin on October 10th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

While I’m still struggling through Silent Hill: Homecoming, I took a break and went to the PlayStation Network and found something quite interesting in the store – Linger in Shadows. Its not really a game, but rather a 6+ minutes long animation with 3 parts that run in full 1080p, the maker calls it the “demoscene”. At the end of the demoscene it also has a lengthy explanation of what it means. Simply put, it means a demonstration of interactive digital animations to demostrate the digital art and what the PlayStation 3 can do. You got that right, its not a game, but when you turn on the navigation option, you can look, to a limited degree, around with your SIXAXIS controller so its sort of like your in the movie yourself. Also, at the end of one of the parts, I unlocked a trophy from the PS3’s relatively new Trophy system (yes I know XBox has had it for a long time).

Graphics are amazing and very artsy and in full 1080p its pretty mind blowing. Its not about photo realism though but more of a oily/brush painting style, sorry not sure what the proper term is but you should get the idea from the images. There is also one scene where you can shake your controller and the demoscene will actually respond like its losing signal which is pretty cool and something never seen before. Audio is pretty classy too and I found it freaky and has sort of a scary feel to it.

While I’m not a big fan and don’t know how to appreciate this kind of demoscenes like a try artist, I still believe its a nice move for Sony to offer something totally different from traditional games on the PS3. So for those looking for something for a change or into art/graphics. This demoscene will please you for only $2.99. Hopefully there will be free downloadable add-ons in the future.

Enjoy the rest of the images!
