  • Metal Gear Solid 4 on XBox360?
By admin on October 14th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

IGN posted a very interesting article today regarding the possible release of Metal Gear Solid 4 for the XBox360. Quoted from Konami PR representative “We’re actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360.”. While I am not a fanboy for neither consoles, even if XBox360 supports Blu-Ray drive, therefore eliminating the need to swapping discs during different acts. How does Konami plan on removing all the PlayStation 3 and PSP references in the game? Are they going to keep them there which is rather a conflict of interest or replace with some other Microsoft devices? As far as I know microsoft doesn’t have a handheld to replace a PSP.

As you can see from the images below, Snake is controlling the MKII using a Playstation controller. And Sunny is holding a PSP while Hal “Otacon” Emmerich is talking about the PlayStation 3!

Only time will tell if the rumor is true or not.

  • Quantum of Solace – Launch trailer
By admin on October 13th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
    Quantum of Solace

I’ve never played any of the previous Bond games, Quantum of Salace will very likely be my first. Using the Call of Duty 4 engine, the graphics are just impressive, if not better than Call of Duty 4. And judging from this trailer, while the game play certainly looks interesting and fast pace overall, though the AIs are quite stupid, they just stand there in the open and not taking cover. Speaking of taking cover, Quantum of Solace has also incorporated the cover system which Call Of Duty 4 lacks. You can also perform random blind shots “sprays” when taking cover. Similar to Far Cry 2, you can interact with the environment like killing enemies by blowing up inflammable objects. These features are nothing new but certainly great to have them all in one single game.
Will this beat the Golden Eye from years ago? We will have to wait and see. Again a demo would be nice!

Quantum of Solace will be out on November 4th on basically all platforms except PSP, which is strange seeing it will be released even for DS.

  • Fable 2 out on October 21st
By admin on October 13th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Fable 2, another game that I wish would be available on the PlayStation 3, I’m hoping this will get ported over to the PC sometime after the XBox360 release. From the trailer both graphics specially the environments like grass and trees and physics have improved, I love the part where you can literally push/kick your enemies down a cliff but I can also see this may be overused since you can just push all of them down without using your weapons. Based on the trailer, the battle also looks like the same old hack and slash. When equiped with a gun, it looks like auto aim to me which hopefully can be turned off if that’s the case.

Oh well, I guess I will have Little Big Planet as well as Fallout 3 to keep me company until Fable 2 becomes available for PC.

  • Next Windows name confirmed – Windows 7
By admin on October 13th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Today in Windows Vista Team Blog Corporate VP, Windows Product Managemet Mike Nash confirms the next Windows operating system or simply OS, will be named Windows 7. At first I thought it didn’t make sense why it would they should use the number 7. But he explains that since its the 7th generation for Windows OS (sorry I seriously didn’t know better, I lost count with so many of them), it makes sense to use 7 as part of the Windows’ name. I also agree with him that using words like XP or Vista didn’t really do the justice as well, they didn’t have too much meanings in them.

For once I agree with MS…..which is a first.

  • Web site reviewing service by TalkReviews
By admin on October 13th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

As a site owner, I am constantly trying to improve my site to attract more visitors and to create a more enjoyable experience for them. One way is to get your site reviewed by others so that you can get feedbacks from them, both good and bad. Website reviews site like TalkReviews allows users to add web sites as well as review them. This is one great way of improving as well as getting more exposure for your web site. Its search function works pretty well as it lists out detail information such as site rank, description, categories (keywords basically), Google Page Rank, Alexa rank, link stats and also a unique visitor graph for a year period etc. You can also check out the top ranked web sites by going into their Top Websites section which is also categorized.

TalkReviews supports a total of 28 countries worldwide so you are not limited to just web sites in English but in other languages as well. Overall TalkReviews looks very nice and organized but I think it needs more graphics added. But since its only beta, I’m sure it will be changed later.

I recommend using TalkReviews for your site reviewing needs.

  • StarCraft 2 to be sold as 3 seperate standalone games
By admin on October 13th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Blizzard has decided to release StarCraft 2 as 3 seperate standalone games to provide the best possible gaming experience to the gamers. The game, or the games rather, will consist of the usual 3 races – Terran, Zerg and Protoss. The first game will be Terrans: Wings of Liberty, as Blizzard’s Rob Pardo stated, the second and third games will be sort of expansions to the first game which are called Zerg: Heart of the Swarm and Protoss: Legacy of the Void.

I still have no idea why and what’s the point of chopping the game into pieces. How will this make the game more enjoyable? I can only see right now that Blizzard can charge the main game 49.99 and then 19.99 for each expansion, in the end you are paying more than you normally would. I can only come up with one possible answer to this, Blizzard wants to fit more content onto each disc. But even if the first game, the non-expansion one, maxed out the entire disc I highly doubt the so called expansion discs will contain as much because otherwise they won’t be expansions.

Update: Oct 14 – So the reason for having a trilogy is because the story is so big it has to be chopped into 3 seperate games. So each one will be $50, in order to get the full story you need to fork out $150+ (due to tax). And chances are if you buy the first, you will want to buy the other two.

  • Another DS game for your girlfriend – Girls Mode
By admin on October 13th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Nintendo DS will be releasing a fashion game called Girls Mode. While this game isn’t aimed for the majority of us gamers. Its still great to see game companies targeting the girl gamers by developing something girly. Your character is basically a GIRL, you shop around and play dress up with clothes, eye shadows…you know what I mean. Then you can compete with others online or through WiFi of up to 4 DS for best look.

The game is rated pretty low and bashed by everyone, assuming all of them are guys. Come on guys, this game is clearly not for us but for your girlfriends. I don’t see a point in talking down this game. Maybe the girls might think this is the kind of game that they like? To clarify I’m a guy and this is not the type of game I want to play, just incase someone thinks I’m a fanboy of this game.

Buy your girlfriend this game, you might get lucky. :) IF you play WITH her then your chance might go higher.

    Hmm just kidding…
